The Croatian Academic and Research Network, CARNET, aims to promote and encourage digital and innovation practices, within the context of the Croatian education system.

Founded by the Government of the Republic of Croatia, CARNET was officially established in 1995, as a project of the Croatian Ministry of Science and Technology since 1991. The network offers a wide range of programmes, resources, and trainings for all ages, with a specific focus on the education sector.

Recognising the need to foster understanding of technology in learning and teaching, CARNET’s e-Schools Program is dedicated to the development of digital competences for students and educators alike. The program focuses on encouraging technology use amongst educators, both in terms of skills and infrastructure. Through the program, CARNET also offers innovative digital e-services, developed to support education and business development processes, with the goal of promoting the importance of developing digital competences and future employability.
