Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) is a campus technological university, part of the Munster Technological University (MTU). It contributes to the region through the provision of academic programmes that support student development and opportunities, education and research. MTU has an extensive and impressive regional footprint with six campuses across the South-West region in Cork and Kerry, and a student body of 18,000.

With a total student enrolment of about 13,000 fulltime and part-time students, CIT offers education programmes from vocational education of apprentices in construction related jobs to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in applied science, engineering, business and some humanities subjects such as social science, sports, fine arts and music.

CIT is also one of Ireland’s largest providers of continuous education with over 5000 part-time students. CIT’s Department of Organisation and Professional Development provides a wide range of continuous education and lifelong learning opportunities in flexible and part-time modes, while the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing Management Systems (CAMMS) is dedicated to providing opportunities for workforce development and personal upskilling often in the form of customised in-company training.
