The hub of the World Economic Forum on Cybersecurity is an independent and impartial global platform committed to promoting international dialogue and cooperation between the global cybersecurity community in both the public and private spheres. The Centre aims to bridge the gap between cybersecurity experts and decision-makers at the highest level and to strengthen the importance of cybersecurity as a key strategic priority.
The initiative was launched in response to an unprecedented systemic increase in security risks and threats caused by technological progress and increased global connectivity.
The Observatory brings together more than 100 partners from key global technology players such as Cisco, Microsoft or Amazon Web Services, as well as a network of representatives of governments and public institutions, international organisations, academia and civil society organisations in one community.
The Community has three key priorities for developing work activities, including:
- Building cyber resilience: enhancing cyber resilience by developing and scaling up future-oriented solutions and promoting effective practices across digital ecosystems.
- Strengthening global cooperation: strengthening global cooperation between public and private stakeholders by promoting a collective response to cybercrime and jointly addressing key security challenges.
- Understanding future networks and technologies: identify future cybersecurity challenges and opportunities related to Industry 4.0 technologies and promote trustworthy and ethical technological solutions.
