Workshops within the framework of the Semantic Interoperability Community (SEMIC) Roadshow initiative, run by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Informatics (DIGIT), took place in Parliament’s Palace on 9 and 10 March 2023. The organiser was the ADR (Authority for the Digitalisation of Romania), which is involved in the process of drawing up the Reference Rules for the Implementation of Interoperability (NRRI), relating to Law No 242/2022 on the exchange of data between computer systems and the creation of the National Interoperability Platform.

National experts from the IT, private-sector, associative and academic industries, as well as from the Romanian administration, had the opportunity to discuss directly with representatives of the European Commission the proposal for an Interoperable Europe Act and the implementation of the National Interoperability Platform (NIP) at national level.

Representatives of the Romanian public administration who operate basic registers presented their own activities and organisational models and discussed similar registers operated at European Union level. Their interconnection capacity was raised in the context of the development of the SEMIC community core registry service catalogue and the Data Governance Act, with a focus on the decentralisation of data spaces and the automation of their exchange.
