The FLUIDOS Project (Flexible, scaLable, secUre, and decentralIseD Operating System) funded by the Horizon Europe programme, aims to involve different types of organisations in the Open Call to test and validate FLUIDOS architecture and software by incorporating their own additional software on top of the FLUIDOS system and exploring new sectors beyond the traditional application domains.

Areas

The proposals should focus on the domain of edge-to-cloud computing continuum or its related sub-domains, including but not limited to:
·    Edge Computing
·    Distributed Systems and Orchestration
·    AI and Machine Learning Algorithms
·    Security and Zero Trust Architecture
·    Energy/Carbon-aware service orchestration
·    Open-Source Software and Community Collaboration

Objectives

The FLUIDOS Open Calls aim to achieve the following objectives:
·    Facilitate Technological Advancements: The FLUIDOS Open Calls seek to promote innovation by encouraging applicants to contribute additional open-source functionalities to enhance and expand the platform.
·    Validate FLUIDOS Architecture: Applicants are invited to test and validate the FLUIDOS architecture by integrating their software, thereby exploring new sectors beyond environmental monitoring, mobility, healthcare, and security.
·    Promote Environmental Sustainability: Participants are encouraged to use FLUIDOS’ energy-efficient data processing to develop more environmentally sustainable business models.

Eligibility Criteria

·    Entities eligible to participate include (not exclusively) researchers, developers, SMEs, start-ups, large enterprises, innovators, and research institutions.
·    It is possible to apply as a single applicant or consortium (max 3 partners)
·    The consortium must include at least one SME or industrial partner
·    SMEs are considered eligible if they are technology providers or technology adopters/users or integrators
·    Eligible countries include EU Member States and Horizon Europe associated country
·    Applicants that were selected for a Use Case Grant in the first Fluidos Open Call are not eligible for funding in the Second Fluidos Open Call, even if they submit a new proposal.

Funding

·    Amount per project: up to 120.000 EUR
·     Number of funded project proposals: up to 5
