Girls in Digital (GID) is an initiative by WIDE (Women in Digital Empowerment) and the Luxembourgish Ministry of the Equality, which aims to support young people, and especially girls, to explore the digital opportunities that are opening up every day.

GID is an online database, comprising of numerous resources in key disciplines for the future (STEM, AI, coding, programming, etc).

About Girls in Digital

In the broad field of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), an increasing number of innovations are based on the development of new technologies around digital domains. The result? A large number of job openings for everyone. But to unlock and seize all the opportunities offered by digital domains, it is essential to have a good knowledge of digital. The same can be observed when we look at popular (and gaining popularity) fields, like software, coding and AI.

Biases still prevail too, with youngsters ending up discouraged from careers in ICT. According to Eurostat just 14% of ICT experts working in the field in Luxembourg are women. The GID platform makes access to information on digital topics (and careers) more accessible to all.
