In the second half of 2022, the IVSZ-Alliance for the Digital Economy launched a call to action aimed at digital professionals at large, as well as key economic actors, policymakers, and citizens throughout Hungary. The aim of the consultation was to highlight on the one hand, the development of state-of-the-art technology in enterprises and, on the other – the competitive skills of employees and the extent to which they make a historic opportunity possible for Hungary.

A ‘Manifesto for a Digital Hungary’

The pace of progress for digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions cannot be understated. In turn, it promises to affect and significantly change the life of every person in Hungary – including the way every company in Hungary operates, or the way all institutions on national level function. Ultimately, the lives of everyday people will undoubtedly be shaken up in coming years – and it is in this space the ‘Manifesto for a Digital Hungary’ positions itself.

4 pillars of action to drive sustainable change forward

The Manifesto sets out 4 pillars of action, upon the fulfilment of which rapid and effective change can take place. Cooperation amongst market and public actors is another foundational element the strategy makes possible. The 4 pillars set out by the strategy relate to the:

  1. Digital society, human resources
  2. sectorial digitalisation, technological development of SMEs
  3. data economy, innovation, star-tup ecosystem
  4.  digital region, in the field of international cooperation.

With regards to the rise of artificial intelligence in particular, the manifesto highlights several concrete and forward-looking proposals designed to help society, businesses and decision-makers prepare faster for the changes coming ahead.
