Sirma Academy is an educational program aimed at training and attracting new people to the IT sector through a series of lectures, exercises and specialization in software engineering. On September 17, the academy returns with its fifth season with an updated program to the latest trends in the digital world.
Specializations at Sirma Academy
The Academy has three main directions in which a chosen programming language is intensively studied. This year, the latest direction is C Sharp (C#), which focuses on creating back-end systems and is a good first step towards Mobile and Game Development.
Java is another back-end direction offered by the academy. The focus will be on the Spring Framework, which can be used to develop enterprise-level platforms.
For participants who want to focus on front-end development, the academy offers Java Script, which is one of the most used languages for visualizing everything we see on the Internet.
Training
Before training in a special field, participants must undergo a 4-week course “Programming Basics”, after which they pass an exam. If some of the students already have basic programming knowledge, they are allowed to skip the course and take the exam directly.
After successfully passing the exam, the students are divided into groups according to their specialization. The study of each direction is divided into 24 weeks of lectures and exercises, with an intermediate exam after the 12th week. The full course ends with a final exam or project.
All training sessions are held online, twice a week, with lectures starting at 14:00 and exercises starting at 18:00. Participants unable to attend the lectures are provided with a recording on the same or the following day.
Requirements for participation
Participation in Sirma Academy does not require prior technical education or experience in the IT sector, but only computer literacy and working level in English.
The Academy is suitable for anyone who has a desire to develop in the IT field and / or has an interest in software engineering. The course allows participants to enrich their technological knowledge, participate in serious trainings and in-depth exercises and helps them to pursue a career in the IT sector.
