With support from the European Commission, on 28 April 2022, a large-scale skills partnership for the Cultural and Creative Industries was set up, creating a model for skills development in Europe to combine resources and participate in upskilling and reskilling initiatives in the cultural and creative industries.
The partnership will encourage learning opportunities and ‘on the job’ training to reinforce the sector and provide its professionals with the skills they need. Focusing on digital, green, entrepreneurial, and technical skills, as well as on arts and crafts, the partners involved have agreed on commitments and indicators to enhance skills intelligence, new training programmes and the number of people trained. For example, the partners will support the common recognition of training paths across EU countries.
The partnership will promote and bolster the support that is currently available in the industry for reskilling and upskilling, including through EU funding sources and through the Creative Europe Programme.
This partnership between European umbrella associations, networks, sectoral associations, vocational education and training providers, as well as trade unions, is based on the Pact for Skills, one of the flagship initiatives under the European Skills Agenda for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness and resilience.
