The FIRST Global 2024 Student Robotics Competition will take place in Greece for the first time on the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Governance from 26 to 29 September at the Peace & Friendship Stadium in Piraeus.
The FIRST GLOBAL Challenge is a global robotics, science and technology event, bringing together national teams with students aged 16-18 from more than 190 countries.
It is a competition that promotes innovation, creativity and cooperation among young people. Students through the competition have the opportunity to engage in solving major global problems and showcase their engineering, programming and technology skills, but also to share with the public their culture and the unique character of each nation.
The theme of this year’s competition is “Feeding the Future”! An innovation challenge, in which participants research and develop their own innovative solutions to create a more resilient and equitable food system, stressing that the application of technologies benefits economic, social and environmental sustainability, while building a robot for the racetrack that simulates problems that the global community must solve immediately for a sustainable future.
The FIRST Global 2024 competition is more than just a competition. It is a celebration of the creativity, ingenuity and spirit of cooperation of young people from every corner of the world. As students gather in Athens to share their ideas and solutions, they will be united by a common goal: to build a sustainable food future for all.
