Artificial intelligence (AI) has quickly become a regular part of our economy and society, and now it’s making an impact in education. No longer just a concept for the future, AI is already shaping how schools and universities operate and how students learn. With AI, teachers can create more personalized learning experiences, adapting lessons to meet each student’s unique needs. Beyond this, AI is showing promise in understanding student development, providing valuable insights into learning patterns and growth. The influence of AI on education and training is significant, and it’s only expected to grow as technology advances further.

Ethical guidelines on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and data in teaching and learning for educators

The Ethical Guidelines on Artificial Intelligence and Data in Teaching and Learning for Educators, developed under the European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027), assist educators in leveraging AI’s potential in education while addressing its ethical implications.

These ethical guidelines on AI and data usage in teaching and learning are designed to help educators understand the potential that the applications of AI and data usage can have in education and to raise awareness of the possible risks so that they can engage positively, critically and ethically with AI systems and exploit their full potential.
