On the 5th of December at the Latvian Association of Information and Communication Technology’s (LIKTA) conference “Focus on the Future”, the annual ICT awards (Platinum Mouse 2024) in the field of technology and digital skills were presented. The purpose of the awards is to identify the most successful digital solutions and digital skills initiatives created in Latvia, to evaluate the best project authors and developers, and to raise awareness of the meaningful use of technology in society, business, administration, and education.
The finalists In the category Most active Code Week teacher were the ambassador of the Latvian Code Week teacher community Angela Jafarova and 2 leading teachers – Elchin Jafarov and Dita Holla. The main prize went to Elchin Jafarov, who has participated in the “Code Week” project for the fifth year.
The Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) presented its special award to Dita Holla, a teacher at the Alūksne preschool “Sprīdītis”, who involves the youngest children in programming-related activities.
LIKTA and stakeholders in the education sector are proud that the work of our EU Code Week ambassadors and leading teachers is highly valued by the wider community and the Ministry of Education and Science Republic of Latvia. The professionalism and enthusiasm of all teachers in their daily work in digital education are highly appreciated!
The main prize Platinum Mouse 2024 in the category Best Cybersecurity Initiative was awarded to the public information campaign “Met nost!” implemented by “Mastercard” and the “Finance Latvia Association”. Developers – Financial Industry Association and “VA Communications”.
The University of Latvia student project “MārtiņaCTF 24” was awarded the certificate of honour from the Ministry of Defense Republic of Latvia. The cybersecurity initiative implemented by Saldus Technical School received the LMT special award for the developed professional qualification requirements for the educational program “Civil Security and Defence”.
The “Platinum Mouse Award” has been awarded since 2007 to recognize the most successful digital solutions and digital skills initiatives in Latvia.
