On 27 June, TechSverige organised an Almedalen seminar entitled “With AI as a means – how to strengthen Sweden’s competitiveness”. This event addressed Sweden’s challenges in AI development, where the country, despite its previous role as a digital pioneer, is now lagging behind in international comparisons.
Focus on Sweden’s future with AI
The seminar highlighted Sweden’s many advantages and opportunities to strengthen its competitiveness through AI. Given that about fifty percent of GDP comes from the export industry, which is a pillar of the country’s prosperity, the importance of focusing on AI to future-proof Sweden’s economy was emphasized.
Panel discussion with leading experts
During the seminar, leading experts from the tech industry, political representatives and members of the AI Commission discussed the way forward to secure Sweden’s position in the global arena. The discussions focused on how AI can become a driving force for entrepreneurship, create new companies, and develop new applications and services that strengthen Swedish competitiveness.
Successful discussion
The seminar gave participants a unique insight into how Sweden can use AI to strengthen its competitiveness and future-proof its economy. The event was part of TechSverige’s efforts to promote AI development in Sweden and was received with great interest from both participants and the media.
