Digital Accessibility is a DigiAdvance course developed by University of Aveiro. DigiAdvance aims to address digital skills gaps in the SME sector through the provision of low-cost, demand-driven, tailored training in key digital technologies for SME owners, managers and employees. This course is one of a number of flexible short-form courses offered by this project, which is co-funded by the EU.
The main objective of the microcredential in Digital Accessibility is to explore the processes of developing and evaluating accessible digital solutions. The specific objectives are: Understand the importance of defining a digital accessibility strategy in the context of development for the web and other digital contexts; Know and discuss the concepts of digital inclusion and universal design, in the context of web and digital technologies; Know and apply international norms, standards and guidelines of conformity and accessibility for the web.
Learning outcomes
Upon completing the course, participants will be able to:
- Develop critical thinking about strategic communication in new media.
- Develop a strategic communication plan for an organization/institution.
About DigiAdvance
DigiAdvance courses aim to advance the knowledge and skills of SME leaders, managers, employees and job seekers in key digital technologies. This course assessment could be fully online, Blended or face to face and at daytime or evening as well (to be consulted at the public notice). Participants receive a certificate of achievement at the end of the course.
