Introduction to Big Data and Business Intelligence teaches the basics of Big Data and Business Intelligence. It covers theory, data processing, visualisation and machine learning.

The objective of the course is to equip participants with a fundamental understanding of Big Data and Business Intelligence. It covers theoretical concepts, aspects of data processing and visualisation, and the application of machine learning techniques to derive maximum value from data.

Learning outcomes

Upon the completion of the course, the participant will:

  1. Recognise the phases involved in a business intelligence project.
  2. Analyse the different technical options available to implement business intelligence projects.
  3. Present data insights and analysis results in a way that allows the best possible use of them by the end user.
  4. Examine and use widespread machine learning techniques to prototype processes for exploiting unstructured information.
