The European Cybersecurity Month (ECSM) is the European Union’s annual campaign dedicated to promoting cybersecurity among EU citizens and organisations, and to providing up-to-date online security information through awareness raising and sharing of good practices.
As part of ECSM, the South Dublin City Council (SDCC)’s IT team, in collaboration with South Dublin Libraries, will deliver 10 Cyber Security sessions for the public. These sessions will cover the basics of cyber security, including phishing, smishing, social engineering, email safety, and practical tips on safeguarding devices and data through strong password practices.

The cybersecurity awareness talks will be organied in libraries, targeting the public, as well as schools:
- Tallaght Library (October 14, 2024 at 6:30pm)
- Lucan Library (October 15, 2024 at 12:30pm)
- Palmerstown Library (October 16, 2024 at 11:30am)
School visits:
- Tallaght Library (October 9, 2024 at 10:00am and 11:00am)
- Ballyroan Library (October 18, 2024 at 10:00am and 11:00am)
