On 25 June 2024, the fourth edition of the ‘Hello, Kosmos ⁇ Talk Bulgaria!’ youth science festival was held. The initiative is focused on encouraging children and young people to pursue careers in space science and STEAM fields and is a day in which young and old alike can be inspired by the multitude of companies present, inspiring speakers, intriguing workshops and exciting demonstrations.
This year’s edition was held in Sofia Tech Park and gathered over 1500 children from all over Bulgaria. The festival included over 50 interactive stands, over 15 workshops, over 15 intriguing lectures and numerous demonstrations.
The attendees had the opportunity to enjoy amazing technologies such as the Yettel recycler, Samsung’s cube, drones, rockets, 3D modeling machines, as well as one of the greatest human inventions – the Gutenberg printing machine.
The children also enjoyed the many workshops that included exciting Minecraft missions, robot demonstrations, experimenting with DNA molecules, making spacecraft from everyday materials, building a LEGO robot and much more.
Thehighlight of this edition was the personal presence of the former NASA astronaut, currently commander-astronaut at Axiom Space, Michael Lopez-Allegria. On the stage, he told about his space missions, about the future of space and answered the questions of 10 curious children. His lecture sent everyone into space and inspired young and old to pursue their dreams to the stars, the moon, Mars and beyond.
