Increasing productivity through Artificial Intelligence, problem solving and leadership in the digital age is the theme of the first section of Google’s educational initiative for the Public Sector.

Training in Artificial Intelligence has already started 500 employees in the public sector, with the aim of familiarizing them with it and enhancing their knowledge. This educational initiative, entitled “Al for All”, is carried out by the Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with Google and the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government (EKDDA) and is only the beginning of a program that will be extended from September to all public sector services.

The first training program of the Ministry of Interior and Google, includes three workshops by qualified and experienced Google instructors. Two of them will be addressed to civil servants as a whole and unfold through the themes “Strengthen Your Productivity with Artificial Intelligence (Al)” and “Problem Solving Methods”. The third workshop, entitled “Leadership for the Digital Age”, concerns executives who hold positions of responsibility in the public sector.

Google’s collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, which is part of a broader initiative regarding AI education in Greece (AI Skilling Initiative in Greece) announced at the 9th Delphi Economic Forum, aims at accelerating the digital transition through Artificial Intelligence as well as ensuring equal opportunities, accessible to all, while this training program will be available through the Grow with Googleplatform. The reason for this program was the economic report conducted by Implement Consulting Group on behalf of the company, which recorded that the extensive adoption of productive artificial intelligence (Generative AI) has the potential to increase Greece’s annual GDP by 10-12 billion euros per year. This is a contribution that will be reflected in about ten years from now, when this technology is expected to be fully integrated into the production process and economy.
