The Data Space 4 Skills project (DS4Skills) has launched in February a new online platform called the DS4Skills Interactive Inventory, which aims to provide a comprehensive and structured overview of various platforms, services, apps, and other initiatives in the skills data domain. The inventory has a focus on platforms for skills related to green and digital transformation.
This online inventory aims to address the lack of visibility and fragmentation of existing initiatives in the skills data space by providing an easily accessible, user-friendly interface with three interactive functions: Discover, Relationship, and Analysis. The DS4Skills Interactive Inventory serves as an important communication tool for the DS4Skills project and all members of the skills data ecosystem, and is expected to improve the alignment and harmonization across parallel projects in the Digital Europe Programme.
The content of the inventory was gathered through a market scan, consisting of an online survey and desk research on publicly available information about the initiatives. Furthermore, the methodology for categorisation and assessment of existing initiatives in skills and educational data was applied. New initiatives are constantly being recruited via an online submission form, and users of the online platform are invited to suggest new initiatives and to add details on the initiatives already incorporated.
DS4Skills: background
The Data Space for Skills (DS4Skills) is a 1-year project aiming to prepare the ground for the development of an open and trusted European Data Space for Skills that supports sharing and accessing skills data.
It is funded by the European Commission under the Digital Europe Programme and involves 14 partners from the industry, education and data ecosystem sectors.
