The European Investment Bank (EIB) is jointly owned by the EU countries. It seeks to boost Europe’s potential in terms of jobs and growth, to support action to mitigate climate change, and to promote EU policies outside the EU.
The EIB works closely with other EU institutions to foster European integration and promote the development of the EU. It offers loans, guarantees, equity investments and advisory services.
Founded in Brussels in 1958, the EIB is based in Luxembourg.
