DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service is an association, brings together German higher education institutions and their students bodies and representatives. Since its establishment in 1925, the association has provided support to more than 2.6 million academics and researchers in Germany and abroad.
The German Academic Exchange Service employs more than 900 employees and is an integral part of an international network of partners. On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), DAAD has been acting as the National Agency for EU Higher Education Cooperation in the Erasmus+ Programme and previous initiatives on EU level since 1987.
The Open Virtual Mobility Learning Hub, financed through DAAD, offers a variety of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on topics relevant to digital skills and jobs, Open Educational Resources (OERs), and other learning material with the aim of enhancing digital media and literacy skills, promote the role of technology in education, and support the development of digital talents in the fields of digital and innovation.
