The Ministry of Public Administration performs tasks relating to the systemic organisation and functioning of the public sector, the public employee system, the wage system in the public sector and administrative management. In cooperation with other line ministries, the Ministry strives to reduce administrative burdens and improve the quality of public administration. At the systemic level, the Ministry is responsible for public procurement and the operation of non-governmental organisations and local self-government. The Ministry’s responsibilities include systemic regulation of electoral and referendum legislation and ensuring transparency and integrity in the public sector. It is responsible for the functioning of the national communication network and provides support to the development of electronic services for citizens, the economy and the State. As the authority responsible for the systemic regulation of the management of tangible assets owned by the State and local communities, the Ministry strives for efficient and cost-effective management of state-owned tangible assets.
