Founded in 1925, the University of Bari Aldo Moro is one of the most prestigious universities in Southern Italy. It is also one of the largest ones: offering undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate-level studies, the university has approximately 60.000 students. Apart from teaching, the university also focuses on scientific research on doctorate level and higher.
The university specialises in physics, arts and sciences, mathematics social sciences, literature, medicine, law, and education. It is divided in 13 faculties:
