The Canal Foundation works for a twofold mission: Generating knowledge and promoting water care. Two decades after its creation, the Foundation has helped translate this commitment into hundreds of activities on innovation, environment and culture. Throughout this process, through research programmes and outreach, it has helped the Isabel II Channel to promote a more efficient and sustainable use of water among citizens. Since then, thousands of people have been involved in the Foundation’s activities.
In its contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Foundation has a particular emphasis on quality education for the efficient use of water and the development of sustainable lifestyles (SDG 4), as well as on the creation of sustainable communities by protecting and promoting, through its work, the world’s cultural and natural heritage (SDG 11).
