Digital Skills Map is a platform created by the Berlin Senate Department for Integration, Labour and Social Services, in collaboration with the European Commission, URBACT, Eurocities, the City of Rotterdam Municipality, and the City of Porto. The platform provides an interactive map, with results, insights, lessons learnt and analysis from different projects and models related to digital skills.
Digital Skills Map is developed in the framework of the European Commission’s partnership for Jobs and Skills in the Local Economy, part of the Urban Agenda for the EU of 2016, and addresses the growing need for vocational education and training (VET) to support digital transformation processes. The initiative focuses on enhancing digital skills for workers and jobseekers, teachers and trainers, and younger people entering the world of work.
Digital Skills Map analyses good practices in the field, taking into account the variety of approaches to foster the ability of people to use digital technology for learning and working. Through the provision of reliable information on good practices and digital skills initiatives in the vocational education sector, the project aims to serve as an inspiration for transferring these practices from one European region to another and inspiring a variety of stakeholders and actors in the digital sphere to develop upskilling programs and initiatives.
